This privacy policy explains how we process personal data that arises when you visit steuerlandschaft.ch. The relevant legislation is the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
Siempi AG, Gartenstrasse 6, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. Contact: Cedric Hirschi
2. Tax inputs
Inputs such as gross income, wealth, age, marital status and denomination are used for the calculation only locally in your browser; we do not store them. So that you can share a calculation, the inputs appear in your browser’s address bar. When such an address is requested, it is recorded, like any other requested address, in the server logs, which are kept for a short time (section 3); it is not analysed. Page addresses are always sent to Google Analytics (section 4) without these inputs. It is up to you whether you pass on such a link.
3. Hosting and server logs
The website is delivered via Firebase App Hosting by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, for users in Switzerland and the EEA) in the Europe region. When you access it, technically necessary data is processed: IP address, requested URL, date and time, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system. This data is used for secure operation (delivery, defence against attacks, error analysis) and is stored for a short time in accordance with Google’s data processing terms. Transfer to the USA is possible; it is based on the EU standard contractual clauses or the guarantees recognised by the FDPIC and the Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 31 FADP; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Usage statistics (Google Analytics) – only with your consent
We would like to understand which features are used in order to improve the tool. For this purpose, we use Google Analytics 4, but only if you give your consent in the notice displayed on your first visit. Without consent, no analytics script is loaded and no data is transmitted to Google Analytics. With consent, page views (address without your tax inputs) and interactions (e.g. “calculation started”, CSV export) are transmitted to Google. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses; Google Signals and personalised advertising are disabled. Google Analytics then sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) with a lifetime of up to 14 months.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can change it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer and withdraw any consent you have given. Legal basis: consent (Art. 31(1) FADP; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. Local storage and cookies
Without consent to usage statistics, the website sets no cookies. Only your setting for the light or dark theme and your decision on usage statistics are stored in your browser’s local storage. These entries contain no personal data and are not transmitted.
6. Feedback form
When you send a message via the “Feedback” button, we transmit the text (including any contact details you write in it yourself), the selected language and, if you choose to include it, the link to the current calculation to our server and store them in Google Cloud Firestore in the Zurich region (europe-west6). We do not store your IP address or browser identifier in the process; the submission merely appears in the server log like any page request (section 3). We use this information solely to process your feedback and to improve the tool; it is automatically deleted after 12 months at the latest.
We also send the message, with the same information, to our team by email. For this we use the email service Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., USA), sending from the EU (Ireland). We delete these emails once the feedback has been dealt with, after 12 months at the latest. Transfer to the USA is possible; it is based on the EU standard contractual clauses or the guarantees recognised by the FDPIC.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in processing feedback and improving the tool (Art. 31 FADP; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell or rent your data and do not disclose it to third parties. Exceptions are the processors named in this policy (hosting, database and email delivery for feedback, usage statistics) and cases in which we are legally obliged to disclose it.
8. Your rights
Within the scope of the applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- Information about the data stored about you
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure of your data, unless statutory retention obligations prevent this
- Restriction of processing and data portability
- Objection to processing and withdrawal of consent
- Complaint to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to the competent EU supervisory authority

9. Data security
The connection to this website is encrypted throughout with TLS/HTTPS; the website sends strict security headers (including Content-Security-Policy and HSTS). We take technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
